Scholarships Available

Get up to 100% of tuition covered with the New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship.**

Students must complete all university degree requirements, which include General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits to total at least 120 credits with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above. Developmental coursework will not count towards the degree requirements and/or elective credits, but may be needed in order to take the necessary English and Mathematics coursework.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music degree also offers the option to design your own minor field concentration, as well as giving students the opportunity to double major with another field.  Students are currently pursuing secondary field studies in Kinesiology, Business, Marketing, English and Biology.

This degree culminates in a Capstone project, focusing on student’s coursework in the major, but the Capstone may also include an interdisciplinary component, aligned with the concentration/minor/secondary field studies pursued. Project examples could include: a lecture-recital, a written research project, a presentation-based research project, an internship, service-learning or community-based project, or another approved focus.

To earn this degree, you need to complete all university degree requirements, which include General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above. There is no second language requirement for the degree.

This conentration allows students to pursue the connections between speech, hearing and music with a fast track into the master's Speech Language Pathology program at NMSU.

To earn this degree, you need to complete all university degree requirements, which include General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above. There is no second language requirement for the degree.

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music (any track) must complete at least four semesters of applied music study at the 2510 level and at least one semester at the 330 level. B.A. students may take applied lessons at the 430 level, but it is not a requirement for the degree.
