No GRE Required

We’re removing barriers to graduate education, which is why we don’t require the GRE.

The MS in Molecular Biology requires about 30 credits, including core courses (like Molecular Cell Biology, Genetics), electives (often 500-level), and either a thesis (MOLB 599) or a non-thesis option. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on research with labs like bioinformatics, molecular, and genomics. The program offers a thesis and non-thesis option.

  • Thesis Option: Involves original research, a thesis, and an oral defense.

  • Non-Thesis Option: Often an accelerated (one-year) biotech track, focusing on practical skills in molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics.

Take classes like:

  • MOLB 520 - Molecular Cell Biology
  • MOLB 545 - Molecular and Biochemical Genetics
  • MOLB 542 – Biochemistry I
  • MOLB 590 – Discussions in Molecular Biology
